The Regional Coordinator and Administrator went on a Mission to The Gambia during the last week of September running into October, 2006. This was part of the Capacity Building Project being implemented in Mozambique, the Gambia, Zambia, Tanzania and Uganda. The National Nutrition Agency (NaNA), hosted the RO staff and the activities that took place. This was a very successful mission and well organized by NaNA, under the very able leadership of Sir Phall and his team Fofana, Amat and others.

The International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN) Gambia branch, recently trained 74 people involved in infants and young child feeding to boost their capacities.
Malang N Fofana, a Senior Programme Officers at the National Nutrition Agency (NaNa) said 45 stakeholders were trained on infant feeding, HIV/AIDS and the international code of of marketing of breast substitutes.
